Egualia was born from the evolution of Assogenerici, the National Association of Generic and Biosimilar Drug Industries, to enhance the mission and social role of its member companies. With nearly thirty years of experience, Egualia has expanded its scope to represent not only generic drug manufacturers but also producers of biosimilars and so-called VAMs (Value Added Medicines). The association includes about 50 pharmaceutical companies, representing 95% of the suppliers of accessible medicines for citizens and the National Health Service (SSN).

The new name, Egualia, was created to emphasize the daily commitment to ensuring access to essential care while safeguarding the sustainability of the National Health Service (SSN) and the productive capacity of companies. The naming is inspired by Article 3 of the Italian Constitution: equality does not mean distributing the same resources to everyone, but giving each citizen the opportunity to take care of themselves and receive the necessary treatments.

The “equal” sign, with its distinctive perspective, becomes a key graphic element. It functions both as a minimal reference to the brand and as a matrix for visual patterns that connect Egualia’s identity to its distinctive symbol. The color and graphic choices favor harmony, readability, and warmth, reinforcing the message of inclusiveness and accessibility.
